What People Are Saying About Jools

"Jools is an incredibly warm and empathetic person and this comes through strongly in her working style. Having had a few sessions with her, I would trust Jools to handle any challenge with skill, sensitivity and professionalism - a combination that has helped me to explore several issues and move forward in a very safe, constructive space. I wholeheartedly recommend Jools!"

"Running my own company means I'm time-short, but I have a pressing need for focus as well as clarity about the broader picture. With Jools I achieved both.

Because we communicated mainly online there was no tension between prioritising my clients' needs and developing myself, both professionally and personally.  I found Jools extremely empathetic, she helped me to visualise success, and got to grips with my personal issues while offering constructive implementable guidance - not broad truisms.

She has a great sense of humour, and I sensed she was drawing on valuable life experience as well as professional know-how. I know from experience that Jools is very open-minded and flexible in how she works with people and what works best for each client. I would recommend her unreservedly."

"I was feeling really stuck in my Thesis study when Jools came into my life and I’d say that my self esteem in that particular area of my life was a bit shaky.

Although I’d had plenty of ideas and thoughts about my Thesis, I just felt overwhelmed by the enormity of the task and I couldn’t understand how to do it. With the help of Jools’ skilful questioning techniques and her encouragement, I went through a lot of brainstorming and magically I had all these great ideas about how to move my Thesis forward. I had no idea I could come out with any of this!

I really started to believe I could do something interesting and I increased my level of confidence, as every time we had a session I could see how I was progressing. I was not focusing my attention any more on what I did not know how to do but I was just doing the things I had committed to do during the previous session. Without Jools’ help I would have found it much more difficult to write my work and I would have spent all of my time focusing on what I am not good at – something which never happened while being coached by Jools.

Jools is very warm and talking to her feel like talking to someone you’ve known for years. She is very encouraging and inspiring, as well as challenging and provocative, when she needs to be.

I have definitely understood that when I concentrate on the positive outcome of whatever work I’m doing, I can move forward and feel capable. That increasing self-confidence is now an everyday event, to the point where I’ve realised it can be fun to push myself beyond my comfort zone. Thanks, Jools, for giving me this great gift!"

"When I started working with Jools, I had recently started an intensive MSc course and was working from home - a new experience for me as, in the past, my working day had been shaped by my office work environment. Being at home all day, I quickly felt quite unsettled and overwhelmed by the apparent lack of structure to my working days and I asked Jools to help me to explore new effective and time-efficient ways of working.

Using gentle, yet effective, questioning techniques, Jools quickly helped me to make best use of my time, by empowering me to realise and understand my most effective ways of working, which, in turn, enabled me to plan each working day, setting goals and targets, thus ensuring all of my work was completed within the allotted time scales.

Ongoing coaching sessions with Jools ensured that I not only had a plan but that, with her fantastic encouragement and support, I stuck to it. She helped me to look at challenges in a new, positive way and now I’m able to break down 'problems' into bite sized, manageable chunks, rather than try to solve the whole thing in one go.  This approach has helped me to do a great job with my Masters degree – far, far better than I would have done without Jools’ support – and has significantly reduced my stress levels!"

"I have been interested in Life Coaching for several years now, and have had the experience of being coached by many people with varying methods and approaches, including some 'Master' coaches. I found Jools to be by far the best, as she was able to hold a clear mirror up to my issues and allowed me to explore my feelings in a non-directional, non-judgmental way.

Through using her highly developed intuition and her ability to change my perspective, Jools has enabled me to gain clarity about my work and relationship goals, improve my attitude to money and given me more confidence in my skills in the workplace.

I have been extremely happy to recommend Jools to everyone I come across who feels in some way stuck or unsure about themselves, or the direction they're taking in their lives.

Thanks Jools, it's been a privilege to work with you!"

"Jools has helped me through some testing times and I have always finished a session feeling much more positive and able to tackle anything.

Her bubbly, yet caring, personality shines though and I always look forward to our time together.  Her listening skills are superb, as are her gut instincts about how I am feeling at any given moment.  Being so intuitive is a great gift.

There is one particular subject that I would like to mention.  My husband was booked in for a vasectomy and although I had requested him to do this, I was having a last minute panic and feeling really weepy and scared about whether we were doing the right thing.  Although I hadn't planned to talk about this at our session, Jools sensed my fear and gently took me through the process of asking me what was causing me to feel this way and what I really wanted.  This brought up the grieving I was still doing from the miscarriage I had had 2 years ago, which Jools helped me to work through, but it also helped me to focus on how lucky I was to have my 2 gorgeous little girls.  By the end of the session, I realised (which I already knew, deep down!) that I did not want any more children as I wanted to move on and start up my business and although I had enjoyed the baby stage I could not go back to it.  Also, I knew that I needed to sit down and talk to my husband, to tell him how I had been feeling and that I had come through it, but that I needed to voice this instead of keeping it to myself.    I did all this and felt so much better and really able to move forward with my life - and this was all the result of just that one session with Jools!

I would recommend Jools to anyone who wants or needs an excellent Coach. She is gorgeous person and will brighten up the dullest of days with her sparkle and enthusiasm."
"'I first met my pal, Jools, a few years ago when we worked together on a public consultation project. It was obvious from day one that she really wanted to understand the work and how it would help the people she was consulting.

Jools is very interested in people, which manifested itself in two ways. Firstly, she wanted to be part of the team who were all working to the same goal (sometimes it took Jools' insight and skill to work out what that goal was!). Secondly, during the public exhibitions, Jools went out of her way to make all members of the public feel welcome and then, in as gentle a way as possible, to help them express their concerns.

In the intervening years I have come to realise that Jools takes this approach to every aspect of her life - professionally and personally. Above all, she wants people to be happy and live great lives, and she'll do whatever she can to achieve this. Her life experiences have certainly helped shape this approach - she really does walk her own talk!

She is a fantastic wife and mother, with two great children, and she connects with people without even thinking about it - just by being Jools'."

"Jools has been my great friend for over twenty years and my life has been enriched beyond words by her unconditional love, loyalty, support and empathy.

I've never met anyone with such an innate ability to make people feel comfortable, listened to and worthwhile, enabling them to open up to their real thoughts and emotions. She has an incredible insight into what makes people tick and an intuitive sense of what's missing from their lives.

She chooses to be an optimist - her glass is always at least half full, regardless of the many life challenges she's faced. I watch her continuing to grow and develop as a wonderful person and she inspires me to do the same.

My life is a so much better place for having Jools in it!"

"It’s a hard ask to put the essence of a woman like Jools into a few lines of text when she’s so much more than I could even begin to describe.  For me personally Jools has been an inspiration.

She’s a woman who I first looked to for help and advice and who slowly became an incredible support and friend through a long and sometimes challenging project.  Jools is someone for whom the word ‘impossible’ doesn’t exist.  She’s a woman of incredible strength, integrity and self-belief. If she sets to achieve something, then by God, she will get there and, best of all, she inspires that determination and confidence in those around her.

What I know with absolute clarity is that my proudest professional achievement wouldn’t have happened without the guidance, support and encouragement of this incredible woman.  It’s honestly a privilege to know, and to be inspired by, Jools Parsons."

"I just want to say thank you for your wonderful support over the past few months and for how your intuitive questions have helped me unscramble my thoughts.

You've kept me focused on what had to be done and, in your uniquely gentle, intuitive way, you used your skills to draw out from me my own answers, as well as showing me the wonderful possibilities that life can offer – what an inspiration you are!

You radiate energy and vitality, have a wonderful caring, holistic approach and are very, very generous in sharing your knowledge.

We've done some fantastic, dynamic and effective work together. You have an obvious passion for people and I am very blessed to have you in my life. With your support and encouragement I shall be climbing many mountains."
Heather Sunley, Campus Manager, Carmarthenshire College
"I was extremely troubled when I approached Jools regarding my professional life and, specifically, my role as a manager; I had lost confidence in my abilities for a number of reasons and this was limiting me in the workplace and had created a negative cycle of thought which I did not always recognise and actually, at times, took to be fact.

The most precious and important thing I have taken away from my coaching relationship with Jools is having learned to recognise negative thinking for what it is and to change my previous thought patterns, in order to create the present and the future that I want.  The active positive thinking that Jools has encouraged me to underpin my life with has made a real difference to me and has brought many wonderful changes already.

Jools is an inspirational Coach; her style is warm, flowing, empathetic and instinctive.  She has totally changed my initial perception of coaching; rather than putting a lot of pressure on an individual to change, her coaching has helped me to recognise the undue pressures I was placing myself under, due to thought processes, and even misconceived beliefs, about myself, others and my place in the world. I now feel free to be myself, acknowledging my unique talents and making my particular contribution to the world, both in my career and in my life."
Karen Sinclair, Procurement Manager
"When we started our coaching relationship, I had been contemplating some major changes in my life for some time, particularly around achieving better work-life balance.  I found myself contemplating and cogitating rather than doing anything for a whole range of reasons, some practical  and some emotional and attitudinal.

I set out on the coaching journey with the intention of crystallising what it was I wanted, and/or aspired to, and taking some action rather than endlessly contemplating whilst being too busy or unfocused to move on.

Jools' gentle guiding me back to the things that are really important to me, when I get lost in reasons and rationalisation, has probably been the most valuable part of the coaching relationship.  It really does help to be reminded about some fundamental beliefs, wants and needs from time to time, when navigation gets tricky, and this has definitely helped me to make meaningful change in my life, especially with regard to my career path which, with Jools' help, has become far more meaningful and fulfilling on a very deep level.

Without a doubt, I would not have done a lot of the exploration I have done, nor tried some of the practical tests of my resolve on things which I thought were too difficult, without Jools’ gentle and loving input.

Before I worked with Jools, I thought that coaching was about being 'pushed' - how wrong I was! I've never felt pushed by Jools; instead, I’ve felt inspired, supported, empowered, energised and action-oriented.
Thank you, Jools."
Tony McGinty, Assistant Director, Lincolnshire County Council
"My life felt stalled when I met Jools; I had just been promoted at work, but was getting no satisfaction from my job. I felt trapped, in terms of my career and my future, and that I had no options. I knew that I wanted to change my life, but I didn’t know how to do it or the direction to go in, to achieve that sense of purpose and fulfilment that was missing.

Jools helped me to understand what’s important to me at a deep, personal level and she helped me to look at everything from a different, positive perspective; I realised, as time went on, that I actually had many options and choices and that I had the power I needed to take action, with Jools by my side to support and encourage me.

The stagnant, stuck feeling that I had has now gone and I have a real sense of achievement and purpose. I have a much clearer idea of the way I want to go; I’m studying to get the qualifications I need to move on in my career, I’ve joined the Territorial Army (which is something I’ve always secretly wanted to do) and I’m buying my first home. If you’d told me three months ago that I’d be doing even one of these things, I would never have believed myself capable of it!

Jools, you’ve been excellent - really supportive, encouraging, challenging and inspiring. Thank you for giving me the tools, and the support, to help me to work towards getting the life I've been looking for."
